Blogging- The Most Popular Method To Make Money Online!

With the increase in popularity on Internet, Blogging has also increased at a rapid pace. Most of the people use blogging as Social Interaction Tool. Blogging can also be very beneficial in Internet Marketing. Most of the Blogging websites provide free service and are fun to use.Effective blogging helps Internet Marketing:When we talk about blogging, we come across two big giants who rule the internet blogs. They are Google’s blogger or blog spot and WordPress.com. I was going through the requirement of a fellow blogger who wanted to switch from blogspot to wordpress but was facing some problems as to installing templates into wordpress. I took that opportunity to write out a post that can help people choose between the two free blogging sites. I shall discuss almost all points I can remember. 1. The first difference is a very big one. Not all of us will want to stick to the default templates provided by wordpress or blogger. To speak it frankly, almost all of us switch to custom templates which are available free on the internet. Wherein, blogger allows you to switch to a custom theme for free, wordpress allows you change templates only by paying a small amount. Even on making the payment, you are not allowed to change the template completely, but are allowed to make changes in the CSS. This is a major drawback I find in wordpress. For installing custom templates, you will have to switch to wordpress.org and host your blog on a paid basis. In other words, you will have to host your own blog.

2. WordPress advantage- You can import complete blogs from almost any blogging site like blogger, yahoo 360, live journal but this feature is restricted by blogger. You can import blogs only from blogger. So if you wish to switch from blogger to wordpress, its a simple task but the vice versa can be extremely impossible.

3.Again for wordpress, you can host almost any type of file on the wordpress server, whereas blogger allows you to host images only. For browsing through your images at blogger, you will be signing up with Picassa album online. WordPress allows you to host images, .pdf and many more file types and you can increase this number by paying an amount.

4. Another disadvantage is that you cannot create a static homepage in Blogger whereas WordPress allows you to create static pages. This can be an advantage very big for sites which desperately need a home page.

5. Both of them allow you to post content externally, i.e, posting by email.

6. No contact form is available in blogger but wordpress allows addition of a contact form.

7.You can restrict the access to your blog by allowing only invited readers. WordPress puts down this restriction to 35 readers only which can be made unlimited by a payment. But on the other hand, certain posts can be made protected using a password.

8. Both of them allow to follow the comments via email. But blogger is a bit more secure in case of spam management.

9. Widgets are in order for blogger. I think that addition of cool third party widgets makes blogger a bit richer. But on the other hand WordPress allows inPost shortcodes that act as widgets in the middle of the post and it goes to the advantage of WordPress. Since I am a freelancer as most bloggers are and our aim is to present information free on the internet, I will look from a freelancer’s overview. I will go with blogger when it comes to free hosting of professional templates, but only if I wished to switch to a better host sometime, I am sure it will be WordPress!!!
